Matthew Fox is chased in Mexico City
For almost half a day some strees of Centro Historico (downtown) were unrecognizable, surprising visitors, pedestrians and owners of local business.
Streets like Madero and Cinco de Mayo, were american actor Matthew Fox filmed yesterday a police persecution, looked like Madrid with posters advertising a spanish rock festival, an anti-terrorism summit at Plaza Mayor and discounts at Corte Ingles.
Since the early morning the crew of the film, which stars Dennis Quaid, William Hurt and Matthew Fox, disguised phone booths with the logo of Telefonica, one of the most popular telephone companies in Spain, and placed fake ads with sales and discounts in Euros, Spain's currency.
The story happens in Madrid and tells about an attack to the president of the United States, played by William Hurt, while he's visiting the spanish capital as the main speaker of a worldwide anti-terrorism summit.
Directed by Pete Travis, Matthew Fox was filming since the early morning scenes in which he drives a police patrol car, wearing the uniform of a spanish police officer, with a light blue shirt with the number 5372.
Since 8:30 am and until 4:00 pm, the american actor repeated the persecution scene for more than 30 times. During the breaks, he drank some water and smoked cigarettes.
The cast of Vantage Point arrived to Mexico City on june 16th. A major set has been placed in a backlot at the southern part of the city, emulating some spanish buildings and a traditional Madrid's plaza. A major part of the movie will be shoot at this set.
